How To Get Rid Of Frizzy Hair

Wednesday, February 3, 2016

Hello Everyone!
As many of you obviously know, frizzy hair is a menace. I struggle with frizzy hair every single winter and I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried using more conditioner. nothing. I’ve tried blow drying my hair instead of air drying it. nothing. Most of my tips include absolutely no chemicals and most of them are natural so you could do this all the time without facing the repercussions of damaged hair. Here are some tips that you can try at home to reduce your frizzy hair.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a great way to reduce the amount of frizz. It smooths down frizz, adds a healthy shine to your hair, and gets rid of dandruff, all at the same time. It's like a 3-in-1! It smells gross, but trust me it will be worth it in the long run. If you hate the smell that much then you can dilute it with water.
How-To:
After completely rinsing off your shampoo, pour out the apple cider vinegar onto your hair. Make sure to get every strand soaked with it. Let it sit for 30 seconds and then rinse it out. For better results, rinse it out with cold water. Then use your conditioner as you normally would and viola! frizz free hair.

  1. Eggs
eggs can be cracked many ways, but using it in your hair is actually one of them. The egg yolk contain fats and proteins and is very moisturizing. The egg white is chock full of enzymes that kill bacteria and remove unwanted oils. So basically it's a conditioner right in your refrigerator. It adds shine and removes that unwanted frizz that you hate so much.
How-To:
whisk one egg into some tepid water (part cold water and part boiling water) and apply it into your hair. Then massage it gently around your head. After you're done, wash it out with warm water and i stress that you not use boiling hot water because you do not want to have an omelette on your head girl! and then just condition as you usually would. you don’t need to shampoo on this one. There you have it, one frizz free head of hair.

  1. Avocado Hair Mask
let’s face it the avocado is the best thing in the world. Whether you call it a fruit or a vegetable, you can’t deny that it is amazing. The avocado is full of fatty acids that helps reduce frizz so it's a perfect way to fight that frizz!
How-To:
Mash one ripe avocado and mix it with two tablespoons of coconut oil to create a paste. Then apply it to your hair and leave it on for 20-30 minutes. After the time is up, you just shampoo and condition like normal.

  1. Don’t shampoo too often
We all know the saying, “do not wash your hair everyday because your hair will be stripped of its natural oils” but it's actually true. If you wash your hair a lot then it's more prone to dry hair which then ultimately leads to frizzy hair. Try washing your hair every two or three days to see if that solves the frizziness.

  1. Don’t blow dry too long
The longer you blow dry your hair, the more frizzy it gets. It's a proven fact. The heat of the blow dryer strips away the oils of your hair making it dry and then that dryness turns into frizz. Try to use the cool setting on your blow dryer more often because it is less damaging towards the hair as well as reducing the amount of frizz.

That was a long one! This is probably one of the longest blog posts I’ve done, but i wanted to be as detailed as possible.
