Where I Want To Live In The World | Blogtober #9

Ever since I traveled to Poland for the first time, I knew I had to live somewhere other than America. That urge grew, even more, when I lived for one month last summer. Life in America is so go-go-go whereas in these different countries are very slow paced and you actually enjoy life. I’ve done a lot of research on living in different countries and visited some of these cities during my life.

Here are a couple cities that I would love to live in.

Krakow:
I’ve been in love with this city since I visited back in 2014. I love the architecture and a number of things you can do in this city. Also, it's a major city where I could get a job pretty quickly because I know English as well as Polish. So I know the area pretty well and I have family that lives close by so I always have people to visit. If I live here, I won’t be like a complete fish-out-of-water.

San Jose:
I love San Jose so much. I love the city, the people, and the way of life that San Jose has. If you’ve read my Study Abroad posts, I lived in this city for one month with a host family and I went to school in San Jose to study Spanish. During my stay there, I just fell in love with it. It’s just so different than America. Everyone seems so happy and life is lived so much slower than life here in America. I know the area very well and I could find a teaching job in San Jose so it wouldn’t be that hard to make a living there. I miss my host family a lot so that gives me an excuse to live there.

Amsterdam:
I started researching Amsterdam after I watched a couple you tubers from the Netherlands and I really admired their progressive approach on how to run a city. That aspect is what I love about a lot of cities. I feel like the atmosphere in this town would be perfect for the fall time because I could just imagine riding a bike through the main square and just hearing the leaves crunch under the wheels. Most operations are done in English so I wouldn’t have a hard time in finding a job and it is a major city in The Netherlands. It seems like there is so much to do there as well as places to visit. I wouldn’t be bored here at all.

Paris:
I’ve been in love with Paris ever since I could remember. I love the French buildings, the Eiffel Tower, and the French lifestyle. Basically, I like anything French. It just seems like the perfect lifestyle for me. It’s very slow-paced, calm, and patient (so I’ve read) and it’s kind of like me in a way. Paris has been one of my dream cities to live in for so long and I’ve read countless of testimonials from expats saying that it’s really expensive, but worth it in the end. I could just see myself sipping a coffee in a cute little french cafe and looking at the Eiffel Tower just loving my life.

If we live in a place for too long we begin to adapt to our surroundings and we begin to view those surroundings as boring and lackluster. I say that is very true. We are so accustomed to our routines that life is just passive because we are so used to the environment that we live in. That’s why traveling is so important. You have to break out of those routines and change your scenery. In my case, the American lifestyle is just not for me anymore. I don’t why it’s changed over the years, but staying in different countries over a long period of time has changed my views of America. With that saying,  I feel as if it’s necessary to live in a different country, even if it’s for a month to restore your inspiration and change up the routine because you will get stuck in a never-ending routine.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and I’ll see you all tomorrow’s next post!
