A Fall Day In Chicago | Blogtober #7

Saturday, October 7, 2017

I live about 45 minutes away from Chicago and I only go there once maybe every two years and that's so sad in my eyes. Chicago is so rich with different cultures and is so full of life. There's so much to see, things to eat, and so many things to do. I had the assignment to go to the Art Institute of Chicago for my Visual Arts class so I wanted to make it a cute little day and show it to all of you.

First off my outfit...
It's always windy in Chicago so I knew I had to bring a jacket and I knew I was going to do a lot of walking so I had to wear comfortable shoes. You have to be comfy and warm at this time of the year. The wind was so strong today that half the time, my hair was in my face.

Jacket - Stradivarius
T-Shirt - Forever 21
Jeans - TJ Maxx
Shoes - Nike
Bag - Rebecca Minkoff

I've been the Art Institute a couple times, but I've never really appreciated nor cared about what message the painting is supposed to convey or who the painter was. It wasn't until I started taking this Visual Arts class this semester that I actually started appreciating art. I freaked out when I saw Vincent Van Gogh's paintings because his paintings are so beautiful as well as Monets.

I definitely recommend going to the Art Institute because there are so many exhibits. They've got a Photography, Contemporary Art, Islamic Art and so much more.

Then we stopped by Panera because I didn't eat breakfast and my friend and I were so hungry. Panera is just a chain in the U.S so it isn't a one-of-a-kind of a restaurant, but it has its purpose. I got the mac and cheese because I love noodles and cheese together. It was really good and when you dip that bread into the cheese, it takes you to another world.

Then we walked over to Millenium Park which is another huge tourist hotspot in Chicago. It has the famous "Bean" sculpture and water bridges which are my favorite. The park is so beautiful and I feel so at peace when I'm walking through the park.

What I love most about Millenium Park is a number of skyscrapers that are visible. Yes, there are skyscrapers all around you as you walk through the Loop, but Millenium Park is where you can actually see them. I just have a huge fascination with skyscrapers and they're architecture.

There are all sorts of different stores on State Street like Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, and so much more. There is also a lot of cute little shops that are local and have such cute things.

Chicago is a very underrtaed city in the U.S (in my opinion) and I feel as if the media portrays Chicago as this terrible city, but every single has its good and bad sides. Chicago has a special place in my heart even if I go so infrequently as I do.

I hope everyone had a great day and I'll see you all tomorrow!
